Animal Emergency Clinic keeps business hours that are complementary to those of most daytime veterinary clinics in the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas, allowing us to act as an extension to your family veterinarian. As such, we are closed during the day while your regular vet is most likely open. We are open evenings, nights, weekends, and all major holidays, including Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Whenever possible, it's a good idea to call ahead to let us know when to expect you. We may be able to facilitate your pet's visit by preparing paperwork, setting up our treatment area for your pet, or if assistance is required, we can meet you at our door to help you carry your animal inside.

Since we don't employ daytime staff to monitor your pet's well-being, if your pet requires overnight hospitalization, he or she must be picked up before 9:00 the following morning, or 9:00 on Monday morning for those pets staying with us over the weekend.

Appointments

Due to the nature of our business, we do not offer appointments. Instead, much like a human emergency room, we see our patients in the order in which they arrive.

However, we see our most critical patients first, regardless of the time they arrived. That means that if a very critically injured animal arrives while more stable patients are waiting, we will see the critically injured animal immediately. It's our goal to make sure everyone who walks into AEC walks out of our clinic on all four paws, even if this sometimes means an increased wait for others.
